How To Get Involved

Single Parent Advocacy

We offer one-on-one advocacy for a single parent to meet their 3 GREATEST NEEDS, working closely with local strategic partners.  We are currently in the research and development stages of this program – researching similar existing programs and piloting ours with 5 single moms.  We will use the research recommendations & feedback from single parents to revise the program with a goal to launch in June 2017 advocating for our first batch of 10 single parents.

Youth Mentoring

We mentor high school & college-age youth one-on-one to give them the tools necessary to bring them into their destiny. Our highly trained mentors work with the youth in the areas of faith, family, education, leadership, & conflict resolution for a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of life! More programs are being developed to service our youth as well, such as a youth faith-based 12-step program, and much more!

Over the last 5 years we have “adopted” several neighborhoods in San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria with the mission of “Find a Need and Fill It.” Volunteers go door-to-door weekly and bring what is needed most – they distribute food; they ascertain needs and deliver household goods, hygiene items, diapers and more; and they offer practical help in any way needed like mowing the lawn and cleaning. As they work they invite people and offer rides to church on Sunday. Some of our key volunteers, who are now dynamic Christians, came to know God and help with the Dream Center because their home in their neighborhood was “adopted.”
